TAFE Teacher Incentive Program



Do you have a passion for teaching others?

Are you an industry expert looking to change your career? Have you thought about becoming a TAFE teacher?

Wodonga TAFE is offering a fantastic incentive program to eligible industry experts to work with us whilst undertaking a qualification to become a new teacher.

Every course taught at Wodonga TAFE needs an industry expert with the know-how to teach it. TAFE teachers come from a wide range of backgrounds, but in particular Wodonga TAFE is looking for:

  • Carpenter
    You will hold a Certificate III in Carpentry with a minimum of 5 years post-apprenticeship experience.

  • Plumber
    You will be a registered Plumber with a minimum of 5 years post-apprenticeship experience in all aspects of plumbing.

  • Electrician
    You will have an A Class licence, and the desired addition of a Certificate II in Split Air-conditioning and Heat Pump Systems qualification, with a minimum of 5 years post-apprenticeship experience. Domestic and industrial experience required.

Steps to becoming a Wodonga TAFE teacher as part of the program!

Register now! Visit here and navigate to 'Expressions of Interest' - you'll see 'Become a Trades Teacher' where you can start your application. Fill in your details and any relevant information and Wodonga TAFE will be in touch soon! If you have any questions we're more than happy to chat! Please use the contact details below.
If successful in progressing your application, you'll have an interview and go through a selection process to become a Wodonga TAFE staff member.
Pending your success in Step 2, you'll now join the Wodonga TAFE team! You'll be mentored throughout the program and will commence your Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) qualification! There are milestones throughout the program (see more), and you first undertake a Enterprise Trainer - Presenting Skill Set (TAESS00014) - a skill set within the TAE40116 qualification. This lets you present and teach while supervised.

Milestones

Incentive recipients will receive a total of $10,000 over the course of the 2-year mentoring program. This will come as three milestone payments, provided the requirements to receive these are met by the recipient. The incentive payments and requirements are detailed below.

 

Milestone #1
$2000

This incentive will be paid when the recipient:

  • Enters into an employment contract/incentive agreement with Wodonga TAFE
  • Successfully completes Enterprise Trainer – Presenting Skill Set (TAESS00014)
  • Remains actively enrolled 28 days after the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) commencement date

Milestone #2
$2000

This will be paid on completion of the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) qualification, provided the recipient has:

  • Undertaken all required assessment activities in the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116)
  • Undertaken all required attendance and activities in the teacher mentoring program
  • Been duly awarded the qualification
  • Remains employed as a teacher at Wodonga TAFE

Milestone #3
$6000

This will be paid to the incentive recipient after 2 years with Wodonga TAFE in a teaching role, provided the recipient:

  • Remains employed with Wodonga TAFE after a period of 2 years
  • Has undertaken all required attendance and activities in the teacher mentoring program
