New Year’s Eve – Take 2

Wednesday, 12 February 2020

Staff from Wodonga TAFE were invited to attend the New Year’s Eve – Take 2 event in Corryong on Friday the 31st January. The event was organised by the Corryong community and was aimed at supporting locals who had a horrific New Year’s Eve due to the devastation of the bush fires.

With many attendees having lost their homes, sheds, stock, workplaces and resources, New Year’s Eve – Take 2 was a welcome escape that provided plenty of smiles and laughs with over 150 people attending.

The night was held at Corryong Memorial Hall and featured live music, a disco, BBQ and a kid’s zone. Wodonga TAFE coordinated the kid’s zone, with a range of fun activities which included giant Connect 4, Jenga, toys, and puzzles proving to be a huge hit. The face painter worked non-stop throughout the entire evening, while local businesses donated numerous other activities including jumping castles and a slushy machine.

It wouldn’t be New Year’s Eve without some sort of live music and fortunately, Zac Spalding and The Misfits were there from 6pm. All contributions and donations on the night went towards the local mental health team.

Thank you to everyone who took part in and supported New Year’s Eve – Take 2!
