Didn't finish year 12? Long-term unemployed? Not working at the moment and feeling like you are a bit down on your luck? 
Maybe this program is the answer you have been searching for!

The Reconnect program is designed to help people turn their life around for the better and to assist you into training and employment. Teaming up with a mentor you are assisted with developing a plan to help you reach your goals, gain motivation and possibly enrol into study to find employment.

What do we do to help?

  • Work closely with you to determine your goals whilst looking at your strengths and interests
  • Help you develop a plan to overcome barriers you face and deal with whatever it is that’s holding you back. You’re in the driver’s seat!
  • Provide individual help and ongoing support to assist you to achieve your goals and problem solve if issues arise
  • ​ Help you if you’re struggling with confidence and taking the first step
  • Access other support you may require including: careers counsellor, job seeking services, assistance with reading and writing skills
  • Help with paying training fees for approved courses

Are you eligible?

You are eligible for this program if you are:

17-19 years old:

  • Not completed year 12 or equilivant (cert II or above)
  • Not currently studying
  • Not in full time employment

20-64 years old:

  • Not completed year 12 or equilivant (cert II or above)
  • Unemployed from full-time employment for more than 12 months

There is flexibility around this eligibility if you have been negatively affected by COVID-19 or the recent bushfires. Please contact us for more information

Who do we help?

  • Parents returning to work
  • Long term unemployed (you do not need to be on Centrelink payments)
  • People who feel isolated in their community
  • Career changers
  • Young people
  • People returning to work after a long absence, for example after an injury; illness; carer responsibilities
  • People escaping domestic violence
  • Indigenous Australians
  • People with low literacy and numeracy
  • New immigrants
  • Highly marginalised groups including those experiencing addiction or homelessness
  • People with a disability

Anyone lacking the confidence to make a new start.

Where do I find Reconnect?

We provide assistance in Wodonga, Towong, Indigo and Alpine Shires and visit these rural towns on a regular basis. We come to you!

Will this program cost me anything?

No. This program is a free service.
