Corporate services departments

Wodonga Institute of TAFE is committed to the provision of relevant programs and services to the diverse and discerning learners and clients in its region and across Australia. It provides a broad range of vocational education and training programs, products, and services including VET in schools, entry-level training, career enhancement, and training and education services in workplaces to improve productivity and career-advancement opportunities.

Wodonga TAFE's corporate services departments take care of the overall operation of the Institute.

Continuous Improvement and Administration Services

Continuous Improvement and Administration Services is a multi-functional department that is responsible for providing support across the entire organisation in areas such as:

  • student administration which is the central point for information regarding course enrolment, fees and charges (including refunds and concessions), and apprenticeship/traineeship administration
  • the overseeing and control of the records management system (including identification and retention)
  • the monitoring and maintenance of the Institute's quality management systems and compliance with specified standards such as AQTF and ISO9001
  • the identification and co-ordination of continuous improvement opportunities (including analyses of surveys and feedback information), delivery performance analyses, and management reporting.

Enterprise Development Unit (EDU)

The EDU has experience in identifying and developing training opportunities, and accessing a range of state and federal government funding. Working with industry and community, the EDU offers responsive and relevant solutions to training needs.

Facilities

The Facilities Management department is responsible for the overall management, upkeep, security, and maintenance of the Institute's buildings, properties, and associated assets.

Finance

The Finance and Records Management department is responsible for the provision of financial services to the Institute and its relevant stakeholders. These quality services include financial management, reporting, budgeting, grant management, and compliance. Through efficient management of financial resources, the department aims to facilitate the financial objectives and strategic plan of the Institute.

Information Communications and Technology

The ICT department provides the Institute with specialist network infrastructure, telecommunications, computer hardware/software, and related IT services.

Kids on Campus Childcare

Kids on Campus is a childcare facility for staff and students of Wodonga Institute, and for the wider community. It is a centre where children are nurtured and empowered through knowledge and the creation of self-worth in the form of art, stories, music, dance, and cooking.

Learning Innovations

The Learning Innovations department is responsible for the delivery and implementation of the Institute's 'e-environment' projects including the provision of:

  • e-learning solutions to meet the learning needs of our students and the training needs of our Institute partners
  • blended learning and online support environments
  • blended learning objectives
  • e-systems
  • the management of e-learning projects.

Market Research, Strategy and Services

The Market Research Strategy and Services department is responsible for the:

  • development, implementation, and monitoring of all marketing strategies and activities of the Institute
  • advertising, marketing database, general promotion and information services, and preparation of corporate print material
  • coordination of public relations activities and official events.

MRSS also undertakes research on behalf of industry partners and the wider community.

Shared Services

The Shared Services department is a dynamic management area which oversees the running of three critical departments of Wodonga Institute: Kids on Campus, Facilities, and Information Communications Technology. Shared Services is also responsible for the Helpdesk which is the single point of contact for facilities and information technology.

Workforce Planning and Development

The Workforce Planning and Development (WPD) department is part of the Learning Innovation and Organisational Development division of Wodonga Institute of TAFE.

WPD manages a range of services to all staff including recruitment and selection, induction, payroll, employee and industrial relations, performance planning and review, staff learning and development, equal opportunity, occupational health and safety, WorkCover management, and the human resource management information systems.
