About this course
This work safety course develops your knowledge of the basic principles of health and safety in the construction industry.
What you learn
You learn about preventing workplace injury and illness, workplace injury management, and workers’ compensation.
This course is aimed at all new workers who carrying out construction work, including:
- self-employed people, labourers, tradespeople, and apprentices/trainees
- supervisors and project managers
- school students and school leavers
- anyone who visits construction sites.
The training is underpinned by the National code of practice for induction for construction work (Australian Safety and Compensation Council 2007).
- Identify and explain OHS legislative requirements
- Identify construction hazards and control measures
- Identify OHS communication and reporting processes
- Identify OHS incident response procedures.
Entry requirements
You must have sufficient knowledge of the English language to perform your work safely.
What to bring
- Please bring original documentation for proof of identity. Photo ID is mandatory.
- Wear suitable clothing and footwear.
