This course helps you prepare for entrance exams into careers in organisations such as the police force, the defence force, nursing, or the public service.
You develop your English, mathematical, and problem-solving skills and learn test-taking strategies.
Entry requirements
Students should have literacy and numeracy skills to a year 10 standard.
Course dates and duration
Dates This course is delivered on campus several times during the year, for two nights per week over seven weeks.
- Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 7 February to 21 March 2012, or
- Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 17 April to 30 May 2012, or
- Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 24 July to 5 September 2012.
Time 5.30pm-8.30pm.
Venue
Building W, Room W114, Wodonga TAFE, 87 McKoy Street, West Wodonga.
Assessment
The level of competency you develop from your training will be assessed using the following methods:
- Tasks in class and homework assignments.
Your teachers will provide you with more information on specific requirements at the start of each unit and they will assist with any support you may need.

This is a Foundation Skills course. If you meet the citizenship/residency requirements your maximum cost for 2012 is likely to be $138 tuition and amenities plus $187 materials for a total of $325.
Concession cost is likely to be $65 tuition plus $187 materials for a total of $252.
