Where this course may lead

Successful completion of this course may lead you to employment opportunities in project management. Project managers are currently highly sought after in many businesses.

What you learn

This nationally-accredited course develops your strategic project management capabilities. You study nine core subjects including:

  • integrative processes, scope, time, costs, quality, human resources, communications, risk, procurement.

Delivery method and course duration

Course duration 4 months

Course mode Part-time (2 days per month - 9 sessions).

For 2012, Course 1 is scheduled to commence in February 2012, until June 2012. Course 2 - second offer will commence in July 2012, until October 2012.

Entry requirements

  • A relevant qualification or training and experience working in a supervisory position for several years is to your advantage. You may currently work in a role where you are in a position to develop your project management skills.
  • You may be required to attend an interview before you enrol. 

Assessment

The level of competency you develop from your training will be assessed using the following methods:

  • Observation/project/assignment/activity, practical assessment, on-the-job assessment, interview/oral questioning, portfolio of your work, third party (workplace) report, learning journal.

Your teachers will provide you with more information on specific requirements at the start of each unit and they will assist with any support you may need.

Outcomes and accreditations

If you successfully complete this course, you receive an AQF qualification and a statement of attainment listing all units that you have completed.
