Where this course may lead

The focus of this course is on building and supporting productive workplaces. It is appropriate for people who want to be or who are currently employed in middle management. This course is ideal for new managers who are seeking to develop their skills and abilities and who want to have their skills recognised by a formal process. Graduates may undertake a range of qualifications at advanced diploma level.

Delivery method and course duration

Course duration 1 year

Course mode Full-time, or part-time, or distance education, or fast-track (a series of specialist workshops, 1 day per month).

Entry requirements

  • We recommend you have completed the Certificate IV in Frontline Management or another relevant qualification, or that you have current supervisory or managerial work experience.
  • You must also be able to use current word-processing software, search the internet, and have well-developed reading, writing and speaking skills.
  • You may be required to attend an interview before you enrol.

Assessment

The level of competency you develop from your training will be assessed using the following methods:

  • Observation, project/assignment/activity, practical assessment, on-the-job assessment, interview/oral questioning, portfolio of your work, third party (workplace) report, learning journal.

Your teachers will provide you with more information on specific requirements at the start of each unit and they will assist with any support you may need.

Outcomes and accreditations

If you successfully complete this course, you receive an AQF qualification.
