Where this course may lead

This course offers opportunities for you to work as a team leader within a department in a large hospitality enterprise, or to manage a small hospitality enterprise. Work roles may include working as a restaurant manager, kitchen manager, front-office manager, gaming manager, or motel manager.

You may also choose to complete the Diploma of Sustainability as a dual diploma qualification.

What you learn

You develop the confidence and skills you need to enter the hospitality industry at an advanced operational or supervisory level, preparing you for all facets of the hospitality industry.

You learn about bar and restaurant service, cookery, front office, event and project management, and supervisory management skills.

Entry requirements

  • There are no formal pre-requisites for this qualification.
  • To study this course off-campus, you must have completed the Certificate III in Hospitality Operations, or the Certificate III in Hospitality, or have relevant industry experience.

Assessment

The level of competency you develop from your training will be assessed using the following methods:

  • observation, questioning, case studies, and practical demonstrations, assignments and portfolio.

Your teachers will provide you with more information on specific requirements at the start of each unit and they will assist with any support you may need.

Outcomes and accreditations

If you successfully complete this course, you receive an AQF qualification.
