Where this course may lead

This course provides you with the skills and knowledge you need to work across a broad range of event areas including professional conference organisations, event management companies, sporting associations, community organisations, and hospitality and cultural venues.

Possible job roles include working as an event, venue, conference, or exhibitions coordinator.

What you learn

You learn a broad range of event management skills including significant communication, planning, and organisational skills that enable you to develop a concept and see it through. The course provides you with opportunities for hands-on experience of running an actual event.

Course mode Full-time, or part-time.

Entry requirements

Entry into this course requires prior completion of a certificate III in events, hospitality or business, or relevant industry experience in the event industry.

Assessment

The level of competency you develop from your training will be assessed using the following methods:

• Observation at work, Observation in simulated environment (e.g. at TAFE), Project / assignment / activity, Practical assessment, On-the-job assessment, Interview / oral questioning, Portfolio of your work, Third party (workplace) report, Learning Journal.

Your teachers will provide you with more information on specific requirements at the start of each unit and they will assist with any support you may need.

Outcomes and accreditations

If you successfully complete this course, you receive an AQF qualification.
