Where this course may lead

This course provides you with the skills you need to enter the radio and television industries, as a presenter, producer, panel operator, researcher or writer.

What you learn

You learn about radio announcing, live voice reporting and presentation, panel operation, research and interviewing skills, and how to use broadcast computers and audio production equipment.

Delivery method and course duration

Course duration 6 months.

Course mode Traineeship, or part-time.

This course is delivered on campus, three days per week, over six months.

Entry requirements

  • There are no pre-requisites for entry into this qualification. We recommend that you have completed Year 10 as a minimum, or that you enrol as a mature-aged student for this course.
  • You will require high-level English language and literacy skills to successfully complete this course.
  • You may be required to attend an interview.

Assessment

The level of competency you develop from your training will be assessed using the following methods:

  • Observation, questioning, practical demonstrations, and written assignments.

Your teachers will provide you with more information on specific requirements at the start of each unit and will assist with any support you may need.

Outcomes and accreditations

If you successfully complete this course, you receive an AQF qualification and a statement of attainment listing all units.
