Certificate IV in Retail Management

Where this course may lead

Successful completion of this course may help you to find work as a store, department, merchandise, customer service, or shift manager. 

On completion of this qualification credits can be obtained for further studies in the Diploma of Retail Management.

What you learn

You develop the skills you need to manage a small to medium-sized retail store, group or franchise outlet.

You learn about functional management roles such as merchandise and sales team management.

Delivery method and course duration

Course duration 1 year.

Course delivery mode Distance education (with assistance from trainers via phone, email or Skype), or Traineeship.

Entry requirements

You need to have sufficient and relevant experience in retail employment, have appropriate qualifications and must be currently employed in a supervisory role within the retail sector. 

Assessment

The level of competency you develop from your training will be assessed using the following methods:

• Observation at work, Observation in simulated environment (e.g. at TAFE), Project / assignment / activity, Practical assessment, On-the-job assessment, Interview / oral questioning, Portfolio of your work, Third party (workplace) report, Learning Journal.

Your teachers will provide you with more information on specific requirements at the start of each unit and they will assist with any support you may need.

If you successfully complete this course, you receive an AQF qualification.
