Where this course may lead

This course is for you if you want to be, or are already working as, a marketing assistant and would like to formally develop your skills and knowledge. This course may also lead towards further study in a Diploma of Management or Human Resources Management.

What you learn

This course incorporates the foundations of business and marketing. You learn about:

  • conducting market research
  • profiling the market
  • analysing consumer behaviour
  • monitoring safe workplaces
  • identifying customer service strategies
  • writing, analysing, and presenting information
  • working, developing, and leading teams
  • promoting products and services.

Entry requirements

  • A passion to understand and develop marketing skills is all that you require.
  • You must also be able to use current word-processing software, search the internet, and have well-developed reading, writing and speaking skills.
  • You may be required to attend an interview before you enrol. 

Assessment

The level of competency you develop from your training will be assessed using the following methods:

  • Observation, project/assignment/activity, practical assessment, on-the-job assessment, interview /oral questioning, portfolio of your work, third party (workplace) report, learning journal.

Your teachers will provide you with more information on specific requirements at the start of each unit and they will assist with any support you may need.

Outcomes and accreditations

If you successfully complete this course, you receive an AQF qualification and a statement of attainment listing all units.
