Where this course may lead

This course is relevant to entry-level positions in human resources and may lead to further study in human resources management or in other business management fields. It may also provide you with credits towards university studies.

This course is appropriate for you if you are working or looking for work in an administrative role in a human resources functional area.

What you learn

You learn about the administration tasks of human resource documentation and systems, teams, customer service, occupational health and safety, computing, and change management.

Entry requirements

  • There are no formal entry requirements. However, we recommend that you have completed year 12 or that you have an equivalent qualification.
  • Relevant work experience is also to your advantage. You may have experience in the workplace and want to learn specific skills to enter the human resources function and to further enhance your career options.

Assessment

The level of competency you develop from your training will be assessed using the following methods:

  • Observation at work, Observation in simulated environment (e.g. at TAFE), Project / assignment / activity, Practical assessment, On-the-job assessment, Interview / oral questioning, Portfolio of your work, Third party (workplace) report, Learning Journal.

Your teachers will provide you with more information on specific requirements at the start of each unit and they will assist with any support you may need.

Outcomes and accreditations

If you successfully complete this course, you receive an AQF qualification and a statement of attainment listing all units that you have completed.
