Are you interested in sustainable living practices and the environment?

Home sustainability assessors is a new occupational group relating to those who conduct assessments and provide advice on how to improve the efficiency of heating and cooling, energy use, water use, and waste generation and management in homes.

Individuals holding CPP41110 Certificate IV in Home Sustainability Assessment may work alone or as part of a team and would typically conduct home sustainability assessments and provide advice on a range of household energy and water use and management issues, depending on their area of expertise.

Home sustainability assessors provide the following services to householders, tenants, property managers and others with an interest in residential property.

  • Assessment of, and advice on how to improve:
    • household energy use
    • household water use
    • household waste generation and management
    • the thermal performance of existing residences.
  • Estimations of the cost of home sustainability measures.
  • Promotion of home sustainability practices by residents.

There are no formal entry requirements for this course.

Assessment

The level of competency you develop from your training will be assessed using the following methods:

  • Observation in simulated environment (e.g. at TAFE), assignment / activity, Practical assessment.

Your teachers will provide you with more information on specific requirements at the start of each unit and they will assist with any support you may need.

Outcomes and accreditations

All participants who successfully complete this course will gain an AQF qualification.
