Where this course may lead

This course gives you the skills you need to work as an assistant manager in the holiday park and resorts industry.

What you learn

You learn about rostering staff, leading and managing people, coaching others on the job, occupational health and safety, handling conflict, and advanced office skills.

You can choose to learn about forming business relationships, computing skills, destination and financial knowledge, and being able to effectively promote products.

Delivery method and course duration

This course is self-paced through distance education. You complete your work online, through workbooks, online, or through recognition of prior learning (RPL).

Entry requirements

We recommend that you have completed Year 10 as a minimum, or that you enrol as a mature-aged student.

Assessment

The level of competency you develop from your training will be assessed using the following methods:

  • All assessments are contained in the workbooks or online and may include case studies, practical simulations, and written assignments. If you are already working in the industry, there is an opportunity for you to be assessed in the workplace.

Your teachers will provide you with more information on specific requirements at the start of each unit and they will assist with any support you may need.

Outcomes and accreditations

If you successfully complete this course, you receive an AQF qualification and a statement of attainment listing all units.

Successful completion of this course also gives you a pathway for entry into the Diploma of Holiday Parks and Resorts (SIT50409) or higher level tourism studies at university.
