Where this course may lead

The course provides you with a pathway for entry into the Diploma of Management or the Diploma of Human Resources Management, which may lead to entry into a related university degree.

This course is for you if you want to be, or are employed as, a supervisor or team leader. You may have experience in the workplace and are looking to improve your business skills and to enhance your career options.

Delivery method and course duration

Course duration 6 months to 18 months.

Course mode Traineeship, or full-time on campus, or distance education.

Day and evening classes are scheduled to commence Tuesday-Thursday, from July to September 2012.

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements. However, we recommend that you have completed year 12, that you have completed BSB30407 Certificate III in Business Administration or other relevant qualification, or that you have vocational experience in providing administrative or operational support to individuals and/or teams but do not have a formal business administration qualification.

Assessment

The level of competency you develop from your training will be assessed using the following methods:

  • Observation at work, Observation in simulated environment (e.g. at TAFE), Project/assignment/activity, Practical assessment, On-the-job assessment, Interview/oral questioning, Portfolio of your work, Third party (workplace) report, Learning Journal

Your teachers will provide you with more information on specific requirements at the start of each unit and they will assist with any support you may need.

Outcomes and accreditations

If you successfully complete this course, you receive an AQF qualification.
