Where this course may lead

When you have completed this course, you may continue on with further studies at a higher level. Completion of this course provides you with the skills that you need to work in a bookkeeping role or provide a bookkeeping service.

What you learn

You learn about the role of the contract bookkeeper in an organisation, performing duties such as:

  • establishing and maintaining accounting systems
  • helping with business activity statements and other office taxes
  • processing all elements of payroll using a computerised accounting system.

Entry requirements

  • There are no formal entry requirements. However, completion of study in this sector or current employment in the financial services industry is to your advantage.
  • You need to attend an interview before you enrol.

Assessment

The level of competency you develop from your training will be assessed using the following methods:

  • Your assessment tasks are assignment-based.

Your teachers will provide you with more information on specific requirements at the start of each unit and they will assist with any support you may need.

Outcomes and accreditations

If you successfully complete this course, you receive an AQF qualification and a statement of attainment listing all units that you have completed.

Successful completion of this course also provides you with a pathway for entry into further study, such as the Diploma or Advanced Diploma of Accounting.
