Where this course may lead

This course gives you the skills and knowledge you need to work as a landscaping supervisor in local government and landscaping businesses.

What you learn

You learn technical horticultural skills, underpinning knowledge, and workplace competence so that you can obtain a position of responsibility in the landscaping industry.

You study subjects such as plant recognition, soils, costing projects, irrigation, surveying and levelling, machinery, staff supervision, garden design, work-team communication, and computer-aided design.

You need basic literacy and numeracy skills.

Assessment

The level of competency you develop from your training will be assessed using the following methods:

  • Assessments will be varied, including observation, practical demonstration and/or assignment work and written assessments.

Your teachers will provide you with more information on specific requirements at the start of each unit and will assist with any support you may need.

Outcomes and accreditations

On successful completion of this course you will receive an AQF qualification and a statement listing all units.
