Where this course may lead

Successful completion of this course may lead you to employment opportunities in administrative or operational events support roles in community, cultural, hospitality, sporting, and tourism sectors.

For example, you may find work as an event assistant, an event administrative assistant, an event, conference or exhibitions assistant.

What you learn

You develop basic skills in the following areas: interpersonal, food and beverage, basic event planning and registration, conference programming, and the ability to support event staging.

Entry requirements

There are no formal pre-requisites for this qualification. We recommend that you have completed Year 10 as a minimum, or that you enrol as a mature-aged student.

Assessment

The level of competency you develop from your training will be assessed using the following methods:

  • Observation at work, Observation in simulated environment (e.g. at TAFE), Project/assignment/activity, Practical assessment, On-the-job assessment, Interview/ oral questioning, Portfolio of your work, Third party (workplace) report, Learning Journal.

Your teachers will provide you with more information on specific requirements at the start of each unit and they will assist with any support you may need.

Outcomes and accreditations

If you successfully complete this course, you receive an AQF qualification and a statement of attainment listing all units that you have completed.
