Where this course may lead

This course provides you with the skills you need to work in conservation and land management agencies, for example, Parks Victoria, catchment management authorities, Landcare groups, and other horticulture-based industries.

You can undertake further study in the industries that are related to the competencies you select.

What you learn

You learn the technical skills and knowledge you need to enter the conservation and land management industry.

You select competencies from the conservation and land management, and horticulture training packages that cover working with plants, animals, construction and maintenance, machinery and equipment, occupational health and safety, people, administration, and business.

Course duration 12 months-4 years.

Course mode Traineeship, or part-time, or by distance education.

Individual competencies are available online.

You need basic literacy skills.

Assessment

The level of competency you develop from your training will be assessed using the following methods:

• Assessments will be varied, including observation, practical demonstration and/or assignment work and written assessments.

Your teachers will provide you with more information on specific requirements at the start of each unit and they will assist with any support you may need.

Outcomes and accreditations

Upon successful completion of this course you will receive an AQF qualification and a statement listing all units.
