Certificate II in Visual Arts and Contemporary Craft

Where this course may lead

This course provides entry into the Certificate III in Visual Arts and Contemporary Craft and then the Certificate IV in Visual Arts and Contemporary Craft. It may also provide you with a pathway to employment as a practising artist or an arts administrator, or to further study at diploma level.

What you learn

You develop creative skills and expertise in contemporary visual art practice. You learn skills in painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, and fibre/textiles.

Course duration 6-12 months

Course mode Full-time or part-time on campus.

Entry requirements

You must be over 16 years of age and have a keen interest in the visual arts.

Assessment

The level of competency you develop from your training will be assessed using the following methods:

• Observation, questioning and practical demonstration through port folio, visual diary and exhibition.

Your teachers will provide you with more information on specific requirements at the start of each unit and will assist with any support you may need.

Outcomes and accreditations

On successful completion of this course, you receive an AQF qualification and a statement of attainment listing all units.
