Where this course may lead

This course is aimed specifically at people who want to establish sound work habits and develop skills in retail, and explore retail as a career option while gaining a nationally-accredited qualification.

The style of delivery is very practical with a hands-on, friendly, and fun approach to learning. You have the chance to demonstrate your new-found retail knowledge in a genuine retail setting at the end of the course.

  • Follow workplace hygiene procedures
  • Prepare and serve non-alcoholic beverages.

Delivery method and course duration

The course is due to begin on 3 May 2012 and will run until 6 September 2012. Classes are held every Thursday from 9 am until 4 pm. The start date is subject to the level of interest shown.

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements.

Assessment

The level of competency you develop from your training will be assessed using the following methods:

  • Observation at work, Observation in simulated environment (e.g. at TAFE), Project / assignment / activity, Practical assessment, On-the-job assessment, Interview / oral questioning, Portfolio of your work, Third party (workplace) report, Learning Journal.

Your teachers will provide you with more information on specific requirements at the start of each unit and they will assist with any support you may need.

Outcomes and accreditations

If you successfully complete this course, you receive an AQF qualification.
