Certificate II in Horticulture (Landscape)

Where this course may lead

This trade-recognised qualification provide you with the skills you need to work as a landscaping assistant or landscaping worker (under limited supervision) in landscaping businesses and local government.

This course will also give you a foundation for further study and specialisation in various horticulture streams.

What you learn

You develop the technical horticultural skills and knowledge you need to enter the landscaping industry.

The course covers plant recognition, plant growth habits, machinery operation, propagation, soils, pests and diseases, retaining wall construction, paths and paving, and occupational health and safety.

Delivery method and course duration

Course duration 12 months.

Course mode Traineeship, or distance education.

Entry requirements

You need basic literacy and numeracy skills.

Assessment

The level of competency you develop from your training will be assessed using the following methods:

• Assessments will be varied, including observation, practical demonstration and/or assignment work and written assessments.

Your teachers will provide you with more information on specific requirements at the start of each unit and they will assist with any support you may need.

Outcomes and accreditations

Upon successful completion of this course you will receive an AQF qualification and a statement listing all units.
