Where this course may lead

You will develop your skills for employment within the engineering industry and, if successfully completing units, gain credits into an apprenticeship in various engineering and manufacturing careers.

What you learn

This course provides you with the skills and knowledge you need for employment in the engineering industry, including lathe operations, and fabrication and welding.

Delivery method and course duration

Course duration This course is delivered three days per week (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday) over a 15 week period.

Entry requirements

  • You must supply your own safety boots and clothing.

Assessment

The level of competency you develop from your training will be assessed using the following methods:

  • You will be assessed through a combination of practical work skills and theory testing

Your teachers will provide you with more information on specific requirements at the start of each unit and they will assist with any support you may need.

Outcomes and accreditations

If you successfully complete this course, you will receive an AQF statement of attainment.
