Where this course may lead

Successfully completing this combined course (Certificate I and Certificate II) may give you a pathway to studies in visual art and craft at a higher level.

You develop basic knowledge and skills in the areas of visual arts and craft. Take this opportunity to discover your creativity.

In an introduction to the cultural arts industry, your subject areas include painting, drawing, sculpture, print making, wood techniques/mixed media, and cultural studies.

Course duration 6 months | Course mode Full-time.

Entry requirements

  • There are no formal entry requirements.
  • You must attend an interview (you can have the Aboriginal Liaison Officer or an Indigenous teacher as a support person in the interview with you).
  • You must have a keen interest in art.

Assessment

The level of competency developed through this course will be assessed using the following methods.

  • Observation, questioning and practical demonstration through portfolio, visual diary and exhibition.

Your teachers will provide you with more information on specific requirements at the start of each unit and they will assist with any support you may need.

Outcomes and accreditations

On successful completion of this course, you receive an AQF qualification.
