Where this course may lead

Successful completion of this course may lead you to management opportunities in a range of tourism operations including:

• travel agencies, tourism operations, visitor information services, attractions, regional tourism organisations, local government, or travel-related companies.

What you learn

You develop highly-specialised, strategic tourism skills that cover asset management, marketing, product development, business planning, human resources, and financial management for the tourism industry.

Course duration 18 months.

Course mode Part-time, or full-time.

Entry requirements

There are no formal pre-requisites for entry to this qualification. We highly recommend that you have completed the Diploma of Tourism or that you have substantial industry experience.

Assessment

The level of competency you develop from your training will be assessed using the following methods:

• Observation at work, Observation in simulated environment (e.g. at TAFE), Project / assignment / activity, Practical assessment, On-the-job assessment, Interview / oral questioning, Portfolio of your work, Third party (workplace) report, Learning Journal.

Your teachers will provide you with more information on specific requirements at the start of each unit and will assist with any support you may need.

If you successfully complete this course, you receive an AQF qualification.
