This course is for engineers and managers in public and private sectors, across all engineering streams, and in small, medium, and large enterprises. It may give you credit for a range of degree courses in engineering.

What you learn

This course aims to meet your needs if you are at, or aspiring to, technician level under the metals and engineering award.

The course comprises a range of technical modules drawn from a number of disciplines including civil, structural, automotive, mechanical, and manufacturing engineering.

Delivery method and course duration

This course is delivered full-time over two years. Another version of the course, which can be extremely demanding for participants, is delivered over one year.

Entry requirements

  • You must have completed the Diploma of Engineering Technology (21621VIC*).

Assessment

The level of competency you develop from your training will be assessed using the following methods:

  • Assessment will be conducted via observation, questioning and practical demonstration or by recognition of prior learning.

Your teachers will provide you with more information on specific requirements at the start of each unit and they will assist with any support you may need.

Outcomes and accreditations

If you successfully complete this course, you will receive an AQF qualification.
