Partnerships with schools

Wodonga Institute of TAFE maintains strong links to our schools, and other education providers, where we are recognised for our accessibility and responsiveness to training needs.

Vocational education and training (VET) in schools

Vocational education and training (VET) subjects are available in many schools. If you are currently studying at a secondary school and wish to include some training from Wodonga TAFE in your VCE or HSC study plan, contact the VET coordinator at your school or Wodonga TAFE's VET in schools coordinator on 02 6055 6315.

The advantage of studying VET subjects at school is that, while you are studying for your VCE or HSC, you can also be gaining a qualification from Wodonga TAFE. This helps you to enter the workforce with training already under your belt. It's a great way to get a head start, and you gain two qualifications at the same time.

Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL)

VCAL courses offer a 'hands on' option for students in Years 11 and 12, combining practical work-related experience with literacy and numeracy skill development.

VCAL is a recognised qualification that also provides you with the opportunity to build personal skills that are important for life and work. All VCAL study programs must include a VET subject.

For further information, contact Wodonga TAFE's VCAL and VET in schools coordinator.
