Designated smoking areas on campus

From the beginning of 2010 Wodonga Institute of TAFE has adopted the policy of designating areas for smoking. This decision is the result of a survey conducted at the start of 2009 asking for responses from the staff and student bodies.

There are five designated areas where smoking is permitted on the Wodonga Institute campus at McKoy Street and other campus sites.

These areas are:

  • between Community Health and Services (CSH), Building B and Learner Services, Building W.
  • between Manufacturing and Design Buildings D and E.
  • National Industrial Skills Training Centre (NISTC) in the quadrangle between the Administration building and Warehousing facility.
  • Water Land and Food adjacent to the Arboriculture.
  • Motorsports Training (Romet Road, Wodonga) at the rear of the training building.

Smoking is not permitted at the Timber Studies site at Michael Drive Wodonga.

These designated areas are clearly signed. All people using these designated smoking areas are asked to use the ashtrays provided to keep these areas clean and tidy for everyone.
