Scholarships
We have established a scholarship fund to help you pay for course fees associated with the diploma and advanced diploma courses. Depending on your circumstances, you may be eligible for an award that will cover up to 50 per cent of the course tuition fee – up to $1000.
For more information about these scholarship opportunities, visit our scholarship page at www.wodongatafe.edu.au/scholarships or phone 02 6055 6606.
Traineeships
Traineeships are available at diploma and advanced diploma levels in a range of industry areas. A traineeship is an ideal way to earn while you learn, and you gain a head-start to your career. There are also financial incentives available for your employer (eligibility criteria apply).
To sign up for a traineeship, you and your employer need to contact an Australian Apprenticeship Centre (AAC). For a list of AACs visit www.australianapprenticeships.gov.au. The AAC will have up-to-date information regarding Commonwealth and State government incentives. They will determine if either you or your employer are eligible for any of these incentives. AACs provide a free service on behalf of the Commonwealth Government.
VET FEE-HELP
VET FEE-HELP (VFH) is a Commonwealth Government loan scheme available to you if you are studying at diploma or advanced diploma level, whether you are paying fees at the Victorian Government-subsidised rate or at the full-fee rate.
Essentially, if you meet the VFH eligibility criteria you can apply to the Commonwealth Government, specifically the Department of Education, Employment, and Workplace Relations (DEEWR), to pay fees on your behalf. You will then have to repay this loan through your income tax when you start earning above a certain threshold amount.
For more information about VET FEE-HELP, including eligibility criteria, visit our VET FEE-HELP webpage at www.wodongatafe.edu.au/vfh or phone 02 6055 6601.
